Flower Meadow Sowing - The beginning

This is the beginning of a beautiful flower meadow.

First the existing turf has to be broken up. We did this with a multi-pass rotary tiller. Then the new sowing takes place. With this distribution system, the precious seeds can be distributed evenly and the quantity can be easily controlled. The roller at the end then helps ensure that the seeds have secure contact with the soil.

And then it's just a matter of hoping and waiting for rain. It can take 1-2 years for the desired plants to actually grow. We have this time and are patient.
